Vibroacoustic therapy

Sound you don't just hear — you feel.

A clinically studied modality that transmits therapeutic sound frequencies directly into the body, creating a profound state of physiological calm from the inside out.

What is it

Vibration as medicine.

Vibroacoustic therapy (VAT) uses low-frequency sound waves — typically between 30 and 120 Hz — delivered through a specially engineered surface you lie on. Unlike a speaker playing music in a room, VAT transmits vibration directly into your body's tissues, bones, and nervous system.

The result is a deeply immersive physiological experience. Your cells, organs, and fascia respond to the frequencies, releasing held tension, quieting the stress response, and guiding your brain into restorative theta and delta states — the same states reached in deep meditation and the earliest stages of sleep.

At Soundrise, every session is paired with a curated soundscape chosen for its specific individual therapeutic properties, from the moment you arrive our mission is to awaken your senses and let the sound bed do the magic.

The research

Grounded in science.

Vibroacoustic therapy has been studied in clinical settings since the 1980s. Research has documented measurable effects on the autonomic nervous system, pain perception, and sleep architecture.

40%

Reduction in perceived pain

Reported in studies on fibromyalgia and chronic pain patients after regular VAT sessions.

68%

Improvement in sleep quality

Participants in sleep studies reported deeper, more restorative sleep following vibroacoustic sessions.

3 min

Time to parasympathetic shift

Heart rate variability studies show the nervous system begins shifting within the first three minutes of a session.

What it addresses

One modality. Many pathways.

Chronic stress & anxiety

Low-frequency vibration activates the vagus nerve and parasympathetic system, pulling the body out of chronic fight-or-flight.

Chronic pain & tension

Sound frequencies penetrate deep into muscle and connective tissue, releasing patterns of holding that bodywork alone can't always reach.

Sleep disruption

Sessions recalibrate the body's circadian rhythms and nervous system tone, leading to measurably deeper sleep over time.

Emotional processing

Vibration loosens somatic holding patterns — the places in the body where unprocessed emotion lives — creating space for release and clarity.

Meditation resistance

For those who struggle to quiet the mind, VAT bypasses the effort entirely — guiding the brain into theta states without technique or practice.

Recovery & performance

Athletes and high-performers use VAT to accelerate physical recovery, reduce inflammation, and restore mental clarity between demands.

What to expect

Your session.

01

Arrive & settle

You'll be welcomed into the studio and invited to share any intentions or areas of focus for your session. No preparation is needed — you remain fully clothed throughout.

02

Lie down & receive

You'll lie on our vibroacoustic table. Your practitioner selects a frequency program and soundscape matched to your intentions. The session begins.

03

The journey

Most clients enter a deeply relaxed, meditative state within minutes. Some experience visual imagery, emotional release, or simply profound stillness. There is no wrong experience.

04

Integration

After the session, you'll have time to rest and integrate before leaving. Many clients feel a quiet clarity that deepens over the following 24–48 hours.
